Artist Statement

The costumes that I create are my method of storytelling. Through my work with costumes, I aim to make meaningful connections and collaborate with other theatre makers to bring our shared visions to life. I am inspired and fascinated by historical clothing methods. I seek to learn, understand, and use these methods to inform my creation of modern clothes that are appropriate for their intended purpose. My work with vintage garments has influenced my use of historical methods to create sturdy and comfortable articles of clothing for the theatre.
